Who runs this site

Second Playthrough (second-playthrough.com) is an independent publication. For any privacy question or request, use the form on the Work with me page.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you choose Allow analytics, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to count visits and see which pages are read, where readers come from, and which links they use. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, at most 14 months. Advertising features are switched off.

If you choose Decline, or make no choice, Google's script is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent deletes the analytics cookies.

What your browser stores for the site itself

Two small preferences are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device: your light or dark theme, and your cookie choice. They are needed for the site to remember what you asked for.

Newsletter

When you subscribe, your email address is sent to our newsletter provider, which stores it so we can send you the newsletter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We never sell or share the list.

Work-with-me inquiries

The inquiry form sends what you enter (organization, role, email, timeline and description) to our form provider, which forwards it to us by email. We use it only to reply to you.

Embedded videos and other links

Videos are not loaded until you click play; the player then comes from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). The preview thumbnail is served by YouTube's image server. Links to YouTube, Patreon and other sites are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.

Fonts and other requests

Fonts and images are served from this site. There are no ads, social-media widgets or other trackers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Contact us as described above, and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
