Where the money goes
- Time to research. Each essay starts with weeks of reading, playing and checking sources — the part that never shows on screen.
- Sources and access. Books, papers, games and archives the essays cite.
- Production. Editing, rights-cleared music and footage, and the tools that keep this site fast and ad-free.
Other ways to help
- Share an essay with one person who would enjoy the argument. Links to the written essays help them rank in search.
- Subscribe to the newsletter. It is free, and it is how the channel reaches you without an algorithm.
- Cite the Field Guide in your course notes, papers or design docs, with a link.
